Less than weeks to Nigeria’s presidential election, a 45-second video clip started making the rounds on social media, especially on WhatsApp groups, with a claim that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be marrying a new wife.
The video, which has Tinubu’s picture and a lady claimed to be Khadija Abubakar Bawa Wagini, the bride, was to serve as a wedding invitation letter to Nigerians to the wedding party said to be held at Katsina Central Mosque on the 18th of February.
The voice-over on the short video was a feminine voice speaking in Hausa language with a subtitle in English language. The Hausa language is spoken by majority in the North West Katsina State.
Furthermore, the content of the video claimed Katsina State Governor, RT Hon. Aminu Beloo Masari would be the bride’s representative; Kano State Governor, Alh. Abdullai Umar Ganduje, groom representative, and Alh. Dahiru Bara’u Mangal would be the chief host.
“This is an invitation to those who did not receive it. God has given power to come”, the video jingle concluded.
