A Twitter user, Ben Murray-Bruce, (@benmurraybruce) claimed Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) has endorsed Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), his counterpart in the race.

The Twitter user posted a video of the LP candidate while speaking at a recent event of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Conference in Lagos State.

The video is linked to a YouTube channel with the name “Renos MasterClass”.

The video has been viewed by over 17k people in about 14 hours.

The video has also garnered 392 likes, 121 retweets, and 202 quotes on Twitter as of the time while writing this report.

Verification

Checks by FactcheckElection revealed that the speech by the LP candidate was taken out of context.

While delivering his speech, Peter Obi said ARTICULATE and not ATIKULATE.

Atikulate is the name adopted by the supporters of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate.

FactCheckElection also observed that the voiceover on the video was to state a false narrative.
