Misleading. The Police spokesperson in the state said the Igbo traders were “being chased away by some hoodlums over the insistence of the traders to open shop today” after an agreement was reached by all traders in the market that shops would be closed on that day.

Nigerians are celebrating the little wins of their preferred presidential candidates in the polls results that are being counted by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Since the beginning of the electoral process, social media platforms have been the hotspot of fake news and misleading information.
Just as a Twitter user raised the alarm that some hoodlums attacked Igbo traders in Abibu Oki street off Broadstreet in Mandilas market Lagos island because the presidential candidate of the LP, Obi was declared winner of the poll in Lagos.
In Lagos, Obi polled 582,664 while Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress who was a former Lagos state governor scored 541,850.
The claim has garnered 12.7k retweets, 317 quote tweets and 14.4k likes — and still getting engagement.
Verification
The police spokesperson in the state, David Hundeyin confirmed that there was an attack on Igbo traders in the said market.
SP Hundeyin, however, clarified that it was due to breach an agreement made by all the traders in the market by some Igbo traders.
I urge us not to fall for tribal bigotry. The complaint was that IGBOs were being attacked and robbed.
