Verdict
False.
Verification
A Google search led us to an interview granted exclusively to TVC News by the candidate. In the video, Anthony Chinasa was seen denying the ‘Abiola’ name.
According to him, he doesn’t have a Yoruba name and he is not a Yoruba man as he is just a full fledged Igbo man from Ibeku. He also blamed his opponent for the attachment of Abiola to his name adding that he ended up enjoying it because it’s also making way for Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the LP governorship candidate in Lagos.
Conclusion
FactCheckElections can conclude that the claim is false. Anthony Chinasa denied the Yoruba name.
