A Twitter user Ahmed Abdullahi @AhmedAbdulla09 made a claim that some of the supporters at a rally for Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration were imported from Niger Republic by his running mate Datti Baba Ahmed.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the rally which was tagged “Obidients Mega Rally,” had Obi’s supporters march through Onitsha, Anambra State on Sunday, August 28th 2022.
Since surfacing, the tweet which was accompanied with different images of Obi’s supporters at the rally has garnered over 829 retweets, 212 quote tweets and over 3k likes.
Hahahaha… I don catch Obidients. Since Obi traveled, Datti went ahead to import his brothers from Niger Republic for the Onitsha rally. Verification
Although the nationality of the supporters cannot be ascertained but what is clear is that they were all supporters of Peter Obi and they had all gathered in Onitsha, Anambra state to register their support for Obi’s candidacy in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Also a thorough search by FactCheckElection reveals that there’s no evidence to support the claim that the supporters were imported from Niger Republic.

FactCheckElection can conclude that the claim is misleading as there is no substantial evidence to support it.
